Cindy Flowers
Bachelor’s Degree in Anthropology | Master’s degree in Social Work

Her anthropology degree led her into the nonprofit work related to refugees, asylum seekers, and victims of trafficking.

This rewarding experience allowed her to work alongside The Department of State - U.S Refugee Admissions, International Organization for Migration, Lutheran Social Services, Church World Service, and various overseas entities.

While earning a post Bachelor’s degree, Cindy completed two internships in a direct practice environment. First, at a facility that housed adolescents for minor to major mental/social disorders.

Secondly, at Girls Inc., a youth program designed to empower young adolescent girls.

Cindy’s Master’s Degree in Social Work further directed her to develop programs such as Women’s Empowerment focusing on learning skills to adapt, cope, and persevere through the process and strength-based approaches.

Common issues were trauma, anxiety, and depression. Cindy is also a Certified Anger Resolution Therapist. Her certification has help client dealing with anger that results in depression and/or relationship instability.

Her skills allowed her to counsel victims and survivors of Hurricane Katrina that effected the southern coast in 2005.

Programs she facilitated include housing, food, education, and employment development for those that migrated to the Dallas area.
